Description This position is for a senior AWS cloud engineer, who can also function as a Linux Systems Administrator, to join our team in Chantilly, VA. The team is comprised of highly technical and motivated individuals. The engineer for this role will design and implement solutions to complex problems. As such, this individual must be an independent thinker and excellent problem solver. The successful candidate must be self-motivated and work well individually and in small to medium sized teams. The candidate must be capable of performing duties without appreciable direction or supervision.The program is made up of CONUS and OCONUS teams who regularly interact across varying time zones. As a result, the candidate must have excellent communication skills and be flexible with regards to team work and tasking. A demonstrated ability to perform in cross-functional teams in order to achieve results in a timely manner is desired.Primary Responsibilities:Provisioning, configuring and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, as well as local on-site serversDeployment, automation, management, and maintenance of AWS cloud-based production systemEnsuring availability, performance, security, and scalability of AWS production systemsManagement of creation, release, and configuration of production systemsPerforming vulnerability scanning and ensuring compliance with configuration management toolsAdministering and troubleshooting Linux based systemsTroubleshooting problems across a wide array of services and functional areasCreating and maintaining supporting documentationBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in telecommunications, network engineering, computer science, or related subject and 8 years of experience ORMaster’s degree in telecommunications, network engineering, computer science, or related subject and 6 years of experienceMust have a TS/SCI With Poly to be consideredExperience with Ubuntu Linux administration, KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine), Salt Stack, Kerberos, LDAPIntegration and test experienceAbility to think and act strategically; capable of working independently or collaboratively as part of a small teamExperience setting-up, securing, and automating AWS cloud environmentsDesired Qualifications:CompTIA Linux+ or Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)AWS Certified Cloud PractitionerAWS Certified SysOps Administrator AssociateAWS Certified Solutions Architect AssociateAWS Certified DevOps Engineer – ProfessionalAWS Certified Solutions Architect ProfessionalOCONUS experience and willingness to travel OCONUS as neededOriginal Posting Date:2024-11-19While subject to change based on business needs, Leidos reasonably anticipates that this job requisition will remain open for at least 3 days with an anticipated close date of no earlier than 3 days after the original posting date as listed above.Pay Range:Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
