Cybersecurity Engineer

to support a complex, multi-year contract to modernize mission-critical Department of Defense Information Technology infrastructure across dozens of sites in many countries in the European Area of Responsibility (AoR). Reports directly to the Tyto Athene Cybersecurity Manager and executes the planning, design and execution of Cybersecurity Approval-to-Connect (ATC), Interim Authority-to-Test Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) and Authority-to-Operate (ATO) of systems by providing Risk Management Framework (RMF) artifacts, analysis, test, evaluation and assessments in accordance with applicable National Security, Federal and US Department of Defense instructions via contract deliverables to the US Army Information System Security Manager (ISSM), in both unclassified and classified environments.Responsibilities:Execute all required cybersecurity activities at the direction of the Cybersecurity Manager.Coordinate with Cybersecurity Manager for all Risk Management Framework activities.Responsible for the development of the cybersecurity packages on a per project basis.Generate STIG compliance documents and configuration for all new devices.Develop and review cybersecurity related deliverables as part of the Engineering Implementation Plan.Develop and submit the weekly cybersecurity compliance status and reports to the Cybersecurity Manager for review throughout the life of each project prior to Systems Acceptance Test.Lead teams of subject matter experts to perform detailed vulnerability and compliance analysis and corrective actions during project testing and transition to operations.Develop and generate a comprehensive Cybersecurity Package and artifacts of ATC/ATO process for projects such as network/voice modernization, data center virtualization, software defined network automation, commercial for classified network (CSfC), wireless and A/V VTC.Provide technical support to the US Government to meet authorization requirements to include requests for change(s) to existing accreditations (if required) to support system transition to operations by the US Government. Support includes analysis of vulnerability scan results including compliant and non-compliant findings, and development of appropriate plans of action with milestones.Participate weekly and monthly meetings with the customer.Required:A Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- An Associate's degree plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- A major certification plus 7 years of recent specialized experience, OR; -- 11 years of recent specialized experience.A bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Management, or equivalent experience.Minimum ten (10) years’ experience cybersecurity engineering for complex projects or systems of similar scope and complexity including three (3) years’ experience in cybersecurity engineering on Department of Defense Risk Management Framework projects and/or systems.Experience analyzing vulnerability scan results and development of appropriate plans of action and milestones.Meets or exceeds all requirements of DODI 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III, including at least one of its requisite certifications (e.g., CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP/Associate, GCED, GCIH, CCSP).Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop and defend test plans and reports, plans of actions with milestones, and supporting rationales.Excellent documentation skill using Microsoft office product.Excellent understanding of NETCOM ATO process such as registering the new IT system into Army Portfolio Management System (APMS), requesting an eMASS instance, working with SCA, AO for issuing an Authorization Determination Document (ADD).Experience with one or more Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) capability packages is desired.Experience with network devices (Cisco/Juniper), voice (IP based and non-IP based), Wireless (Aruba), data center virtual environment (VMWare/Hyper-V) and Audio/Video VTC (Crestron/Extron/AMX/Cisco codec).Possess and maintain a US SECRET or TOP-SECRET security clearance prior to start.Achieve and maintain the Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) as defined in the Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA) between the United States and the Federal Republic of Germany.Clearances Required:SecretAdditional Information:After several strategic acquisitions in 2021, Tyto Athene has experienced enormous opportunity and growth.
