Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. Directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry. Accountable for the care given to patients in the Emergency Department. Communicates with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology. Capable of responding quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Knowledgeable about EMTALA regulations and reporting of child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality. Job Requirements Current and valid state RN License. Current BLS (AHA). Current ACLS (AHA). Current PALS (AHA). Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting, E.R. setting preferred. Additional Details Required - Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification Valid Picture ID (State Driver's License, Passport, or State ID Card) American Heart Association certifications are required for specific positions: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, Fire Card, MAB, RDMS, etc. Must score 80% or better on required competency exams and are generally required within 1 year of start. Specific facility documents are needed such as job descriptions, attestation, EMTALA manual & acknowledgment, and Behavioral Prevention with CDC.
