Job Description:The Client is seeking a senior SQL Server database / Azure database administrator to join the Oracle/SQL Server Database Administration Team in the Enterprise Data Management section. The selected candidate will administrator and support SQL Server databases throughout the agency.The selected candidate has:
Expertise working as a SQL Server DBAExpertise working with SQL clustering, mirroring and high availabilityExperience working with large SQL databasesExpertise in writing Transact SQLExperience tuning Oracle and/or SQL Server databasesExpertise in installing, upgrading, patching and migrating SQL Server databasesExperience working on Windows environmentExperience working with SSIS, SSAS, & SSRSExperience working with Azure CloudThe selected candidate will:
Monitor databases to maintain/ensure database uptime and availability.Troubleshoot application/database issues related to connectivity, access, security and etc.Tune long running SQLReview & refine existing database tasks and processes to better align with agency/group priorities.Leverage & utilize O/S scripting utilities in support of database maintenance/diagnosis/support.Review the existing database implementation and propose, execute, and/or direct necessary changes.Perform SQL Server installations (2012, 2014, 2016 w/ failover clustering).Support SQL Server databases (administration, support, tuning).Knowledgeable of data modeling principalsBe expected to...
Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.Independently perform a variety of complicated tasks.Work with a team of Oracle & SQL Server DBAs.Communicate clearly and effectively, both speaking and in writing.Qualifications:
At least 5 years of experience w/ SQL Server database experienceAt least 2 years of Azure experienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other applicable and/or equivalent skills, knowledge and/or work historyDemonstrated experience in communicating effectively using standard requirements and design artifactsDesired knowledge of and experience with the following technologies:
