S ummary

The Senior Manager of Brand Licensing will work within the MTA C&D Advertising & Promotions team to plan, manage, and execute the MTA Brand Licensing Program to increase licensing revenues, protect the MTA’s intellectual property, and leverage consumer affinity for the MTA brand marks. This role will oversee the day-to-day activities of the MTA’s external licensing agent; contribute to the MTA’s global licensing strategy, handle direct fee-based license requests from third parties, develop and execute marketing plans to support licensees and grow the Licensing Program; and generate monthly reports on licensing activities and revenues.

Responsibilities

Evaluate proposed terms for new or renewed license agreements presented by the MTA’s external licensing agent.

Manage direct-fee licenses with third parties for commercial use of MTA property in media, events, or other non-royalty-based uses, and handle contracting and payments for same.

Monitor trends in the licensing industry to identify new and emerging opportunities for licensed products.

Influence and contribute to the development of a promotional strategy for the Licensing Program.

Develop regular communication channels for licensees about marketing opportunities, the availability of new MTA intellectual property, and other opportunities to support their business.

Suggest and implement new ideas, process improvements, and other ways to improve efficiency. Identify, analyze, and implement new creative marketing opportunities (e.g., contests and events).

Collaborate with MTA Promotions and Social Media teams to develop joint-marketing opportunities with notable licensing partners.

Work closely with the MTA communications and press team to exchange ideas and cross-promotion opportunities to publicize newsworthy licensing partnerships.

Work with MTA Legal to resolve identified infringements of MTA intellectual property.

Track results, ensure proper data is accessible to analyze the programs and own monthly reporting on licensing revenues.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field

Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the licensing industry and marketing.

Understanding of copyright and trademark law, as well as contracts.

Experience with product marketing.

Exceptional writer/communicator.

Strong negotiating skills.

Experience with data analysis and reporting.

Creative, proactive problem solver.

Program management experience is a plus.
