Ruby on Rails Architect - Remote Long Term Project About the Role: As a Ruby on Rails Architect, you'll be crucial in building and maintaining our core platform and integrations. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (product, design, engineering & quality) to develop new features, improve existing functionality, and ensure the platform is performant, scalable, and secure. Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, production-ready Ruby on Rails code. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code adhering to best practices Collaborate with product managers and designers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the engineering team Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Ruby on Rails and related technologies Proactively identify and address potential technical issues and bottlenecks Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development processes and infrastructure Requirements Qualifications: 12 years of experience as a Ruby on Rails Architect Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to anticipating edge cases & clarifying requirements Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns Strong knowledge of relational database design, SQL, and performance optimization Strong debugging skills with the ability to find and solve problems with minimal documentation or outside help. Proven ability to write clean, efficient, and maintainable code Experience with testing frameworks like RSpec Experience with deployment and infrastructure tools like AWS, Kubernetes, or similar Experience with version control systems like GitHub Experience with building RESTFul APIs, testing using Postman Excellent communication and collaboration skills Passion for building impactful products and a desire to make a difference Bonus Points: Experience with API development and integration Experience with front-end technologies like JavaScript and React Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Experience in a fast-paced startup environment
