South Coast Winery Resort & Spa is seeking a Group Sales Manager. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience; resort experience is a plus. Essential Duties:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. Develops and manages sales department. Participates in the development of the hotel’s sales and marketing strategies. Ensures maximum occupancy on a daily basis; interfaces with front office to follow-up on group bookings and maintain accurate, current information. Qualifies leads and prospects gained from cold calls and other sources. Establishes, maintains, and increases client base; maintains regular contact with clients; conducts tours of the hotel and its facilities; entertains potential clients in accordance with hotel policies; responds to telephone and walk-in inquiries. Actively participates in community events and activities as a hotel representative; ensures a positive image of the hotel. Develops and manages sales and support programs to ensure achievement of annual objectives. Prepares and monitors sales budget/forecast. Continually gathers and monitors information on competition and market trends; communicates information to sales associates and others as needed. Manages preparation of sales proposals and tools; provides sales presentations as needed. Assists front office staff with resolution of guest problems/complaints as needed. Possesses and maintains thorough knowledge of hotel services, facilities, policies, and area attractions. Monitors overall activities of the sales department; identifies problem areas and directs corrective actions. Provides timely and accurate reports as required. Attends and participates in business/trade events as required. Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
