We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for leading the sourcing function to achieve service, inventory, and cost objectives. The Sourcing Manager will lead supplier selection, long-term contract development, supplier management and strategy development for assigned commodities. This role has the responsibility of designing and executing procurement commodity strategies that result in the reduction of sourcing costs and executing vendor quality and compliance audits.
In addition, the Sourcing Manager is tasked with identifying opportunities for improvement, including supply chain management, inventory controls, commodity management, and Low-Cost Region (LCR) sourcing strategies.
To excel in this role, the Sourcing Manager should have a strong background in Sourcing and Procurement, as well as experience in process improvement methodologies. Excellent communication, negotiation, and data analysis skills are essential for success.
Sourcing:
Develop commodity sourcing strategy including contract negotiation, cost targets, supply chain risk evaluation and mitigation.Develop a commodity strategy that aligns technology and business requirements with supplier capabilities.Work with procurement to align short-term orders to the strategic plan.Work collaboratively and cross-functionally (Operations, Quality, Finance, Engineering, Procurement) to assess current and future sourcing requirements.
Vendor Management:
Establish and nurture strategic supplier partnerships to ensure a resilient supply chain and minimize potential disruptions.Adept at fostering strong relationships with suppliers, cross-functional teams, and executives.Implement programs for supplier evaluation, selection, qualification and supply base optimization.Manage overall strategic supplier relationships including supplier performance, capability development, cost, and quality improvements. Act as an escalation point for any critical gaps in supply or other critical issues.
Negotiation / Cost:
Negotiate favorable supplier contracts, terms, and conditions, achieving cost savings while ensuring consistent product quality and on-time deliveries.Implement cost-savings initiatives, including strategic Low-Cost Sourcing Program, buying power leverage from commodity management, etc.Perform Spend Management analysis to Tier commodities and vendors for negotiations of advantageous terms and cost.
Inventory Management:
Utilize lean principles to optimize inventory management, leading to drive reduction in excess stock and carrying costs.Drive improvements to Inventory Turns and On Hand Inventory $ distribution across A-B-C items
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
At least 5 years sourcing & purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.A Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar is preferred.Demonstrated contract development, negotiation, and cost management experience.CPM, APICS, CPSM or equivalent certification preferred.Knowledge of sourcing and purchasing PCBA’s, Machined Parts, Electronics, and Metal Components in a manufacturing setting preferred.Highly proficient in data analysis and interpretation and be able to use data to identify trends, develop actionable insights to improve sourcing and procurement processes.Ability to travel up to 25%.
