Department Summary

The Department of Film, Television and Digital Media provides professional and scholarly approaches to the study of media and helps students discover their powers as independent artists and communicators.

Position Summary

Under general supervision from the Director of Enrollment Management for the School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT), the FTVDM Undergraduate Application Processor handles the FTVDM undergraduate application process. Duties include but are not limited to: Communicating with applicants. Checking applications for completeness. Coordinating application reviews. Assisting with interviews and administering the applications and application fee waivers. Coordinating application materials and working with faculty to provide applications. Working with applicants and vendors to troubleshoot applicant problems. Providing assistance with training application readers. This is a five-month 50% contract.

Salary & Compensation

UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Salary offers at the top of the range are not common. Visit

Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic and educational levels and skills in using a variety of interpersonal strategies to interact appropriately in situations ranging from large meetings to individual appointments. (Required) Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments in a timely manner and a skill in setting priorities that accurately reflect relative importance of duties. (Required) Excellent interpersonal skills to create and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and University administrators. (Required) Working knowledge of University admissions and recruiting procedures. (Required) Demonstrated ability to establish and implement short- and long-range goals and to set priorities to meet the mission of the School. (Required) Demonstrated skill in analyzing, synthesizing and compiling documents for presentation to committee or to students. (Required) Ability to create and manage tracking systems, presentations, forms and reports using word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, and database software. (Required) Demonstrated writing skills to complete concise, effective and grammatically correct administrative reports, policy statements, procedures and correspondence. (Required) Ability to handle confidential information with judgment and discretion. (Required) Skill in performing tasks with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. (Required) Skill in working as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues. (Required)
