Job Description: The HR Generalist will have a positive attitude, streamline processes, and solve problems. This is a newer role for the company. The ideal candidate is a people person, proactive, with experience handling a wide range of human resources and employee engagement tasks. The individual must be well organized, flexible, able to work independently, and enjoy the challenge of supporting a company of diverse people.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Provide overall HR support for management at the company. Develop and maintain office and company policies, handbook, and streamline existing policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with federal/local regulations. Coordinate talent acquisition process with hiring managers and lead recruitment tasks as directed. Manage recruiting workflow including online assessments, interviews, employment offers, pre-employment tests, background checks, and correspondence with candidates. Oversee onboarding and exit programs including managing pre-onboarding processes, onboarding sessions, and conducting exit interviews. Assist management in structuring, creating, and implementing training plans and programs for all departments including safety training to be in compliance with OSHA. Lead team training. Handle internal staff inquiries, complaints, discipline, injuries, and worker’s compensation issues as appropriate. Ensure top HR performance of company staff by providing adequate coaching and guidance. Keep up to date with HR best practices and inform management. Assist management in creating and maintaining a positive inclusive work environment, while championing the company’s values throughout the organization. Coordinate and plan company-wide team-building events, e.g., annual holiday celebration, volunteer opportunities, and increase participation. Other duties such as payroll management and benefits administration would be a target area of growth for this role.
Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business or related field is preferred but not required. One to two years of previous HR experience. Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred. Knowledge of HR principles and federal/local regulations. Ability to multi-task, work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Efficient in handling a wide range of administrative and executive support tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; management and leadership skills. Strong professionalism, organizational, and planning skills. Experience working in organizations of 50+ people. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint is essential.
