Monday - Friday (3:00pm - 11:30pm)

The Packaging Technician II plays a vital role in the successful production of our beverages. They are expected to operate with integrity and a high level of focus in all positions on the production line to ensure we are safely sending the highest quality products possible to our customers.This position will be responsible for learning the mechanics of their designated line equipment in order to reduce down time related to equipment issues and changeovers. The Packaging Tech II will also be the backup for the Line Lead position.

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures:

Conduct safety inspections of packaging equipment and work areas. Report any safety hazards or incidents to the appropriate person immediately. Participate in safety training sessions and contribute to a culture of safety awareness.

Follow good documentation practices and correctly complete all paperwork relative to process performed. Assist in the setup, breakdown, and cleaning of any of the packaging lines. Properly operate plant equipment including but not limited to Depalletizers, Fillers, Case Packers, Labelers, Case Erectors, and Case Sealers. Maintain plant and workspace cleanliness in between machine cycles. Stacking boxes onto pallets, verifying labels, and moving them to designated areas using pallet jacks or forklifts. Learn proper settings, and perform adjustments, PM's and troubleshooting for all equipment on your line and record all required data relating to these Complete routine maintenance and minor repairs during down times as well as working with maintenance to complete major repairs Assist in the setup, operation, breakdown, change over, and cleaning of equipment Ensure product from your current workstation meets standards of quality. Adjust packaging equipment as needed to best meet quality standards for all product being handled (legible date stamps, caps torque, appropriate fill heights, aesthetically pleasing labels, and secure cases) Document all machine adjustments when made. Observe and monitor filling operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications. Responsible for completing post-glass break filler inspections and documenting in the Glass Break Log. Inspect equipment for sanitation and foreign material hazards and report findings. Sample, inspect, and test finished products and packaging for hazards, defects and deviations from specifications. Daily cleaning and set-up following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). Clean, lubricate, and inspect equipment and ensure they are operating at established center lines and support autonomous maintenance initiatives. Must be dedicated to increase your knowledge base and improve effectiveness in your role by participating in all repair work and training sessions on your line with the Maintenance team, equipment reps and other industry professionals. Support the line by stepping in as lead when the Packaging Lead is temporarily unavailable. Maintain a professional, positive and calm demeanor while problem solving under pressure. Responsible for making sure product is meeting quality and safety standards. Maintain a positive working relationship working with line leads in assisting and developing a collaborative team environment. Communicate with maintenance when extra expertise is needed. Perform case flavor mixing as needed. Participate in training sessions that may include, but are not limited to safety protocols, operational procedures, skill development and compliance requirements. Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities Follow GMP policy when in the production facility and encourage your team to do the same. Understand our SQF policies relating to pest control, visitors, allergen management, and cleaning and sanitation. Demonstrate awareness of Management's Commitment to SQF and work towards Food Safety and Quality and help the company meet this commitment. If there is a problem that involves food quality and safety, report to the Quality Assurance Manager so that the CAPA (corrective action, preventative action) log may be filled out, the situation be investigated, and resolved with the goal of continuous improvement of food quality and safety. Required Skills/Abilities Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred Basic computer skills required Keen attention to detail Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for self and others Ability to positively work with a team to achieve production goals Ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues Extended shifts, overtime, and weekends may be needed based on business needs Flexibility in work hours is necessary to meet operational demands Education and Experience High school diploma or GED required 1 year of mechanical background/packaging line experience preferred Work Environment/Physical Requirements 30 minute unpaid lunch break; two paid 15 minute breaks. Ability to work in a crowded, noisy manufacturing environment, and be able to navigate extremes in temperatures. Requires standing, walking, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting and lifting 100% of the time and occasionally walking on uneven, slippery surfaces. Duties may include lifting up to 50 pounds and maneuvering heavy equipment and/or parts. EEO Statement
