We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced General Superintendent to oversee multiple crews and ensure the successful delivery of our roadway projects. The General Superintendent will manage field operations for multiple crews, ensuring project profitability, compliance with schedules, scope, and deliverables. This role requires a leader with strong organizational, communication, and management skills, focused on enhancing efficiency and maintaining high-quality standards. The qualified candidate must be willing to travel locally within Atlanta, GA. Travel out of town is rare; however, it may be required on occasion. Job Responsibilities: Crew Management: Direct and train Foremen on job duties, including basic computations, reading proposals, ordering materials, and preparing site logistics. Communicate with Foremen on a daily basis to review project requirements for staffing and equipment and make adjustments, reviewing requests for labor, trucking, and equipment needs. Work with Project Manager to prepare forecasted schedules, with support of the Foremen. Project Oversight: Ensure adherence to project scope, schedule, and budget while monitoring production, labor, and equipment utilization. Field Process Improvement: Continuously monitor and improve field processes to maximize efficiency and productivity by managing job profitability while ensuring scope and schedules are followed. Have a thorough understanding of production, trucking, labor and equipment needs. Stakeholder Communication: Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and government agencies. Reporting: Prepare and submit daily and ad hoc reports, including budget-to-actual results, equipment maintenance schedules, and project status updates. Safety Compliance: Promote and enforce safety practices, conduct accident investigations, and implement corrective actions. Technology Integration: Support the integration of technology into field operations for tracking, measuring, and reporting purposes. Meetings Participation: Attend pre-bid, pre-construction, and construction meetings; support business development and technical planning as required. Must be comfortable interfacing with internal and external team members, building relationships and collaborating to deliver projects on schedule and with excellence. Equipment Management: Oversee the maintenance schedule for all heavy equipment and fleet (e.g., rollers, pavers, sweepers) and implement measures to prevent theft and damage while on the field. Training & Development: Support the training and career development of personnel, in collaboration with Human Resources. Qualification Requirements: Minimum of 7 years of experience in asphalt paving, with experience in secondary roads, parking lots, and major roadway projects. At least 5 years of experience as a Paving Foreman or 1 year as a Superintendent. Strong planning, organizing, and leadership skills. Proficiency in MS Office products, specifically MS Word, Excel and Teams Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus. Experience with concrete and sealcoating is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with internal and external teams. Ability to travel as needed and work Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend work during peak months. Physical ability to walk construction sites and lift up to 50 pounds.
