Minority Executive Search Need ASAP Environmental Health & Safety Manager (Automotive) Location: Nevada Base Salary 150K to 170K Plus 10% Bonus & Relocation Job Summary: The EHS Manager is responsible for implementing EHS programs and initiatives in support of our clients production. You will play a key role in the day-to-day operations in the production process, driving safety on the production floor. You must be able to manage and coach teams and drive company EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). The Manager will work directly with production mangers, supervisors, safety champions, consultants, and vendors to maintain compliance and mitigate risk by implementing best practices within our clients integrated management system Essential Duties: • Promote a culture of quality, safety, compliance, and continuous improvement throughout the organization. • Coach and influence EHS team members and production safety teams(s) driving a High-Performance Safety Culture. • Assess and evaluate process and day-to-day activities on the production floor and guide production safety teams in safe practices and adoption of best practices. • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate safety risks within the production area. • Technical consultant/subject matter expert for EHS programs such as LOTO, Machine Guarding, Fall Protection, Respiratory Protection, Hearing Conservation, Laboratory Safety and Radiation Safety. • Review, participate, and coach teams in effective investigations. Ensure appropriate root cause analysis has been conducted and corrective actions have been identified and implemented. • Participate in safety committee meetings and take steps to address or mitigate issues • Conduct and review risk assessments. Evaluate equipment design and suggest modifications and safety improvements. • Collect and analyze data using commercial or in-house platforms. Effectively communicate information to verify compliance and continuous improvement efforts. • Conduct industrial hygiene surveys and environmental monitoring to identify and control physical, chemical, and biological hazards and workplace Assist EHS with revisions to programs, policies, workplace instructions, guidance documents, and training assist with the implementation of 6S in production areas. • Working alone or with cross-discipline team members, complete projects to both improve processes in existing production lines and install/commission new production capacity. • Prepare and submit timely and accurate reports and permitting requirements as needed. • Interact and support at all organizational levels, both internal and external to the company. Work effectively and efficiently in both team-based and independent working environments to add value to the organization. • Perform any other duties assigned by EHS leaders. Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, related branch of Engineering, Systems Safety, Biology, Chemistry/related science or technical field from an accredited four-year college or university. • Preferred: Advanced degree in EHS or technical field. Essential Qualifications: • Minimum of 10 years in Automotive as a senior, supervisory, or managerial role related to EHS in a Manufacturing environment. • Experience with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, ISO, and EPA. • Minimum of 3 years of progressive Automotive Manufacturing/Operations experience and direct people management experience in a high pace/high volume manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety management systems such as ISO 45001. • Experience mentoring, coaching, supporting, and collaborating with production safety team members. • Experience with Behavior Based Safety programs and implementation. • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis and corrective action management • Work effectively and efficiently in a cross-discipline environment as well as independently. • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced and changing environment. • Results oriented with the ability to plan and deliver against production deadlines and goals. • Superior communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to give formal presentations to small groups and communicate successfully with all levels of employees and management. • Experience with Lean Six Sigma and 6S principles. • Skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. • Ability and willingness to respond to site emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, as needed. • Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
