Environmental & Land Use Lawyer Our client, a leading law firm is looking to hire a veteran lawyer with expertise in environmental and land use regulations to enhance its team. This role is ideal for a driven attorney who is passionate about providing strategic legal counsel and navigating complex regulatory landscapes. The Environmental & Land Use Lawyer will be responsible for advising clients on environmental regulations, land use policies, zoning, and permitting. This position involves representing clients in administrative hearings, handling litigation, drafting legal documents, and advising on compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and land use laws. Advocate on behalf of clients in judicial and quasi-judicial forums, including governmental body meetings, court trials, and regulatory agency proceedings. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents, such as environmental impact assessments, development agreements, and zoning applications. Conduct thorough analyses and maintain expertise in evolving federal, state, and municipal statutes, ordinances, and guidelines governing environmental stewardship and land utilization. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate client projects. Perform comprehensive risk assessments for property acquisitions and development ventures, incorporating in-depth environmental site evaluations. Offer specialized advisory services on major environmental laws and regulations, such as clean water, clean air, NEPA, CEQA, endangered species protection, and other relevant statutory requirements. Skill Set: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Active bar membership in the state of California or eligibility to obtain bar membership. Seeking seasoned attorney with minimum 5 years' expertise in environmental and land-use law, preferably gained within a reputable law firm environment. Possesses comprehensive expertise in multifaceted environmental regulatory frameworks, encompassing federal, state, and municipal statutes, zoning ordinances, and land-use governance. Experienced litigator with demonstrated expertise in guiding clients through administrative tribunals, hearings, and other judicial proceedings. Excellent legal research, writing, and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client-facing responsibilities.
