Senior Java Software Engineer Job Locations US-FL-Melbourne | US-CO-Aurora Requisition ID 2024-150808 Position Category Information Technology Clearance Top Secret/SCI Responsibilities Peraton is seeking a motivated and talented senior JAVA Software Engineer to support the design and development of cloud-based SIGINT microservices. Join our team in Aurora, CO or Melbourne, FL and contribute to the mission of our Intelligence Community customer while gaining hands on experience with cutting edge development technology. What you'll do: Development, integration, testing, deployment and maintenance of cloud-based software components for a highly available/resilient application Implement software to develop new and prototype capabilities in an environment based on a fast-paced Agile methodology Working with end-user Analysts, Systems Engineers and Software Engineers, the candidate will execute planning, design, development, and productization of applications for complex electronic data processing systems Software utilized will include Java, Spring Boot/Spring Framework, Angular (ECMA Script)/Typescript, MongoDB, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes Utilize CI/CD tools (i.e. GitLab, GitLab Pipelines) to continuously build, test and integrate Interface with project managers and customers on a regular basis, which will require excellent communications skills and willingness to collaborate Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of professional software engineering experience. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree Demonstrated development and maintenance experience with Java Fundamental software engineering life-cycle experience; analysis, design, development, debugging, deployment and automated testing Top Secret/SCI clearance (active/currect) Desired Qualifications: Security Certification Experience with GitLab (Pipelines, Automated CI/CD, SonarQube, SAST, Code Scanning, NexusIQ, Dependency Scanning), ArgoCD Kubernetes (RKE/RKE2), Docker, Container Registries and deployment orchestrators such as Helm AWS (S3, EC2, Load Balancers) Java (Spring Boot, Spring Framework, MVC/RESTful APIs, AWS SDK, Java 17, JUnit 5, Mockito) WebApp Frameworks (Angular, React) Document Database Systems such as MongoDB PKI Authentication / Certificates, Keycloak, OIDC / oAuth Messaging Platforms (i.e. RabbitMQ or other) Observability (Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Alert Managers), Cucumber / Selenium Atlassian Tool Suite Experience with Agile methodology to include Scrum Innovative thinker with excellent problem solving and communication skills Ability to maintain knowledge of industry trends and standards Ability to enhance and support a software application (government or commercial) deployed to production user Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan Peraton Overview Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy.
