Senior Estimator (Mission Critical)

AGS Associates have partnered with a leading ENR General Contractor, seeking a skilled Senior Estimator with 3-5 years of Data Center construction experience to join their dynamic team. Estimators will play a key role in negotiating and executing commercial projects across core markets. This role involves close collaboration with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors to ensure comprehensive project cost evaluations and successful project outcomes. Responsibilities : Lead projects from initial estimate to finalizing subcontracts. Go beyond provided information by asking insightful questions to ensure complete cost evaluations. Serve as a collaborative advocate for our customers, providing clarity and guidance throughout the project lifecycle. Offer innovative solutions to address complex issues related to cost, lead times, trade partners, and materials. Confidently estimate costs across all scopes of work and make reliable predictions. Prepare detailed conceptual and variance cost studies from schematic or feasibility documentation. Create presentation-worthy estimate packages that clearly communicate project costs. Collaborate with the project team to determine necessary staffing and project requirements. Demonstrate knowledge of unit costs and factors influencing construction costs. Develop detailed bid instructions, trade-specific clarifications, and bid packages. Lead the bidding process, solicit and evaluate subcontractor proposals, and manage bid tally sheets. Recommend subcontractor awards to clients, negotiate, and finalize subcontracts. Present cost and budget information effectively to clients and participate in project RFP responses and formal presentations. Cultivate relationships with new and existing clients to support ongoing business development. Qualifications : Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, deliver high-quality work, and meet deadlines consistently. Excellent listening and communication skills. Creative, solution-driven, and adept at resolving complex project issues. Effective collaborator with both internal and external teams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, estimating software (WinEst, Timberline, or similar), takeoff software (On-Screen Takeoff or similar), BIM tools (Revit, Assemble, etc.), project management software (CMiC or similar), and scheduling software (Primavera or similar). 3-5 years of experience as a commercial construction estimator, preferably within core market segments. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Strong work ethic and a proactive, “can-do” attitude.
