Information Technology Project Manager

Senior Project Manager Information Technology Location: Torrance, CA (Hybrid of onsite and remote work of 60% or more ) Note – Currently this team comes into the office once a week. However, depending on project he/she may need to come in more than once a week. Contract Duration - 12 months with strong possibility of an extension We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who can assist with Managing the implementation of multiple part system projects. Some projects will have work outsourced to onshore and offshore resources. .The ideal candidate will have experience in one of the following areas: Logistics/Supply Chain, Automotive, or Mainframe. Responsibilities will include the following: Manage one or more cross‐functional projects of high complexity. Manage one or more medium to large‐sized, moderately to highly complex projects Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies for the IT community and project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations and business objectives. Manage teams through all phases of cycle development, including analysis, project design and development, testing periods, installation, and final delivery. Assemble project plans, team work assignments, direct and monitor work efforts daily. Identify resource needs, perform quality reviews; and escalate functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately. Coordinate communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk, and resources of the work effort being managed. Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources. Lead meetings, gain consensus, and take and distribute meeting minutes. Identify complex risks, lead reviews, create risk mitigation and implement action plans. Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating across leadership. Manage project scope and changes Manage and control project cost and schedule. Set and continually manage project and program expectations while delegating and managing deliverable with team members and stakeholders Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel. Required Skills and Expertise: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent work experience. Project Management PMP certification or successful completion of a recognized project management curriculum is preferred. Self-starter with the ability to leverage previous experience and available information to create and update project plans. Needs to be someone who requires little oversight. Strong presentation skills with experience with providing project updates with all levels of the organization. Skilled in creating PowerPoint presentations for senior level management. Advanced ability to perform the following functions: Oversee and manage large, complex, diverse, and strategic projects that impact the organization. Implement program and project plans, monitor progress, resource usage and quality. Conduct risk assessments and develop plans for eliminating or mitigating the risks identified. Ability to demonstrate leadership, drive results, solve problems, and possess interpersonal skills from prior work situations. Advanced understanding of multiple project management disciplines; Waterfall, Agile/Scrum. Proven ability to work in an ambiguous environment and collaborate across multiple areas to achieve a common business objective. Strong vendor management skills. Strong facilitator with the proven ability to reach across to other teams to ensure project deliverables are delivered on time. Demonstrated communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate ideas. Proven leadership skills. Proven ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and priorities. Experience in MS Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word). Desired Skills and Expertise: Experience in Logistics/Supply chain desired. Experience in automotive is a plus. Experience working with Clarity is a plus.
