The Company: Urbix, Inc. is a US-based developer of graphite processing technology. Our proprietary technology utilizes a sustainable, environmentally friendly approach for the production of key anode materials for lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles (EVs). We aim to be the leader in the rapidly growing domestic market for graphite anode material to be used in a variety of applications including EVs, military systems and other industrial electrification applications The Company operates facilities in Mesa, AZ and Research Triangle Park, NC with more than 60 employees. The Mesa facility is focused on continued pilot operations for sample production and completing the Company’s commercial demonstration module along with a state-of-the-art battery testing laboratory and quality control capabilities. The Research Triangle Park facility is focused on process optimization using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques in addition to conducting R&D on innovative battery systems and advanced processing technologies. The Company was recently selected for a $125 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy for a commercial-scale production facility. Job Summary: We’re looking for a full-time Electrician. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment across the manufacturing facility. This role plays a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted electrical services to support production, while adhering to safety protocols and regulations. The Electrician will work closely with the operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and address electrical issues as they arise. Requirements: • 5 years of proven experience as an electrician in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with knowledge of high and low-voltage electrical systems. Experience with high-voltage electrical systems a plus, but not essential. • Ability to properly size circuit breakers, conduit, wire, and cable. • Ability to cleanly and competently complete electrical installation projects involving building supports, mounting electrical components, conduit bending and routing, installing cable tray, pulling wire and cable, and final terminations. • Experience working with production machinery or automated systems. • Strong understanding and demonstrated application of electrical codes, safety standards, and best practices in an industrial setting (such as NFPA 70, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E). • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings such as single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, elementary diagrams, and instrument loop diagrams. • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or in a team to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other departments. • Proficiency in using electrical testing tools and equipment. • Ability to operate a forklift and electric pallet jack. Training available. • Effective written and verbal communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company. Preferred: Familiarity with preventive maintenance software. Familiarity and ability to troubleshoot control components such as PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, instrumentation, etc. Responsibilities: • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, wiring, and equipment, including motors, control panels, lighting, and production machinery. • Troubleshoot electrical issues and perform preventative maintenance to ensure consistent operation of electrical systems and equipment. • Perform electrical isolations and ensure systems are de-energized safely before maintenance or installation activities, adhering to regulatory and safety standards. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to install, modify, or repair electrical components in accordance with building codes and safety standards. • Collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to resolve electrical issues promptly and effectively. • Ensure all work complies with relevant safety codes and regulations, performing electrical safety checks and risk assessments. • Maintain inventory of electrical supplies and order replacement parts as necessary. • Assist with the installation and wiring of new equipment and machinery in the facility. • Document all repairs, installations, and maintenance activities, and provide reports as required. • Participate in cross-departmental projects and support general maintenance tasks as needed. Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required): Foreign language skills are helpful, particularly Spanish. Education and Certification Requirements: High School Diploma. Relevant electrician certification and/or license. Working Conditions: General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending, and working in confined spaces or at heights. Work is conducted primarily indoors/warehouse with varying environmental conditions such as: dust, and fluorescent lighting. Noise level is usually medium to high Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. Work Schedule: Time - 40 hr weeks with overtime opportunities Flexibility to work on different shifts. Currently working 4x10 hour shifts, Monday thru Thursday.
