Short 15 Full time physicians across the system of Corpus Christi Medical Center · Is there a specific start date needed? ASAP · Duration of need? 1 Year · What’s the schedule? On-site call coverage weekends nights – All shifts are 6a-6p 6p-6a with single doc coverage at the sites listed above. o Are there specific dates needed? No specific dates o If call is involved what is call volume? How often do they get called back on-site? No call o Call/Rotation schedule? No call · Will they take an APP or SFA when applicable? Do not need APPs currently · What are expectations for orientation? ie shadow day? EMR training? Onboarding is 2 Hr process to educate on Meditech and local quality measures. Also there will be one shadow shift at each main site and 1 shadow shift at any FSED they all function the same Candidate Parameters · Any specific fellowships/ certifications/ procedures/ competencies we are looking for? ABEM for Doctors Regional · Experience level? At least 2 years of ED experience to work in FSEDs or Family medicine with Emergency medicine fellowship Credentialing questions: · Will emergency privileges be an option? Yes · Are case logs needed? If so what are the requirements? Yes case logs will need to be provided. Hospital/unit questions · Number of beds? 18 – Doctors Regional · Census? See below · How many daily admissions? 10 admissions at FSEDs and 20 at doctors · Are there any consults and if so how many per day? Yes multiple · What’s the patient population? Rockport – Elderly winter Texans Northwest – nursing home elderly rural Portland – mixed more younger patients · Trauma center? Types of cases? Acuity? Northwest and Doctors are Level IV trauma centers Portland FSED and Rockport FSED are not. All sites see high acuity. Physicians must be efficient in central line placement intubation dislocation reductions trauma stemi strokes OB deliveries. · What does the support staff look like? · How will follow up cases be handled? when applicable- inpatient or outpatient o Generally no follow up needed on cases however feedback is provided as needed. Intubations central line placement Ultrasound utilization OB delivery dislocation reductions chest tube placement trauma management laceration repair. · What does the support staff include? Each site has APP coverage. o Drs – 24 hrs app coverage every day o Northwest – 12 hrs APP coverage every day o Portland – 11 hrs app coverage every day o Rockport – 9 hrs app coverage every day · What is the average patient census? o 80 – Doctors § These numbers are per day. What are the most common cases the locum will see? All Varierty of Emergency Medicine Cases Annual ER admissions? 10 admissions at FSEDs and 20 at doctors Does the unit use robots? If so what kind? No How often are the locums called back on site if on call?
