Vetting Officer (Vessel Operations)

Our client provides their marine division with a significant competitive advantage by delivering professional, tailor-made Fleet Management, Fleet Development, and Fleet Personnel solutions. The Vetting Officer is responsible to support the Vetting Manager in day to day operations and be responsible for the support of vetting process within Fleet Services and Client Business Lines Third Party (Chartered) vessels. In this role the vetting officer will liaise with external providers/clients regarding vetting requirements, and you ensure service levels are adhered to. Monitor OVID/CMID status of all Fleet Services managed vessels, and make sure inspection processes are administered correctly in the internal database; Keep the 3rd party vessel database (VINE) of vetted vessels up to date, and follow up any open corrective/preventive actions; Update, check and maintain the OCIMF Vessel Particulars Questionnaires (OVPQ), the IMCA Vessel Particulars (CMID) and the OVID & CMID databases as appropriate in close cooperation with the Marine Assurance Officers; Assist with required vetting statistics (Fleet Services & 3rd party vessels) and with the preparation of internal periodical/monthly/quarterly reports for the vetting department; Assist in the preparation and data collection for OVMSA audits and for various client bidding questionnaires in close cooperation with the Vetting Manager; Job Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions. Possess the ability to obtain a valid passport for international travel. Possess a higher technical degree in Naval Architecture, Naval Engineering or Maritime. Have experience as a Certified Vessel Officer. Have 3 years or more experience in the maritime industry. Have 3 years or more of onshore work experience with vessels. Owner/operator in vessel QHSSE and/or Operations supervisory position. Have the ability to visit vessels, other marine assets and other FS offices when required. Knowledgeable of International and Domestic regulations. 10% of offshore time required. Dynamic Positioning experience highly desirable.
