Department: Community Engagement Full-Time Position Reports to: Community Engagement Director Non-Exempt Position Direct reports: None Salary Range: $40,000-$65,000 Position Description: Downtown Phoenix Inc. (DPI) is a community-building organization that delivers enhanced municipal services to the Downtown Business Core, marketing and event services to Greater Downtown, and manages the work plans for Phoenix Community Alliance and the Downtown Phoenix Community Development Corporation. DPI and its affiliate organizations are committed to making Phoenix a vibrant urban destination and one of the nation’s great cities. Community engagement and placemaking are among the myriad ways DPI serves its diverse constituencies. This position would work closely with and support DPI’s Marketing, Events and Community Engagement departments to execute numerous deliverables within in DPI’s work plan, including but not limited to public art, wayfinding, pop-up events, event support and production, and working collaboratively with our stakeholders to ensure our services are contributing to the overall health and vitality of Downtown. This role will be a coordinator or manager based on candidate’s qualifications and experience. Job Duties: · Assist Community Engagement Director with events from planning to completion, including events DPI produces as well as those events DPI sponsors and supports · Under the leadership of the Community Engagement Director, identify placemaking opportunities Downtown and help bring those initiatives to fruition—these projects could take the form of public art, wayfinding, pedestrian enhancements, pop-up events, etc. · Assist Community Engagement and Events with regular stakeholder meetings, including planning, execution and presenting · Under the leadership of Community Engagement Director, assist with stakeholder communications · Support Marketing with content and caption creation for social media · Performing duties “in the field,” including touchpoints with stakeholders and representing DPI at a wide variety of public meetings and events Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree preferred · 3-5 years of experience in event organization and/or community engagement and marketing · Willingness to work some non-traditional hours to support events · Experience working with small businesses and property management · Experience working with Customer Management Systems (CRM) Desired Professional/Personal Characteristics: · Deep understanding of the Downtown Phoenix neighborhood · Service-minded · Collaborative spirit · Ability to multi-task and take on new projects and assignments with minimal notice · Congenial personality and strong people skills
