Must be a U.S Citizen for consideration. This is an on-site opportunity located in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Seeking a candidate with knowledge in: - Numerical Modeling Expertise: Demonstrated foundation in numerical modeling with a focus on any kind of fluid dynamics. - Software Proficiency: familiarity with various modeling and simulation software, such as OpenFOAM, StarCCM, ANSYS, or others. Basic knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C++, FORTRAN, MATLAB, Python) and Linux-based systems is preferred. Necessary skills: - CFD Software Proficiency: Experience with leading CFD tools like OpenFOAM, StarCCM, ANSYS Fluent, or similar software. Ability to set up, run, and analyze simulations. - Numerical Modeling: Understanding of numerical techniques for solving fluid dynamics problems, including discretization methods, mesh generation, and solution algorithms. - Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming languages for custom simulations, automation, and data analysis. - HPC/Terminal Skills: Demonstration of using High Performance Computing systems or experience using a terminal is good (Bash, Csh, Linux, etc.) Necessary Abilities: - Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues in simulations, troubleshoot problems, and develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges. - Continuous Learning: Openness to learning new techniques, tools, and methodologies in the field in CFD and related areas. - Flexibility: Ability to adapt to evolving project requirements, incorporate feedback, and adjust methodologies as needed. - Organizational Ability: Managing time and resources efficiently to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate can: Demonstrate either a fluid mechanics and/or numerical modeling background at either the Bachelors or Masters level. Some demonstration of general numerical modeling concepts and fluid mechanics. Strong technical skills, including proficiency in using one or more various modeling and simulation software and/or numerical methods. Demonstrate organizational skills, ensuring they can manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently. Exhibit a strong problem-solving ability, with a knack for identifying root causes of technical issues and implementing effective solutions. Be adaptable to new software, techniques, and methodologies quickly and effectively. Have the ability to contribute positively to team dynamics, maintain a continuous learning mindset, and strive for professional development.
