Director, Merchandise Planning, Allocation & Control ON-SITE - Charlotte, NC 28273 The Cato Corporation is seeking an experienced Director, Merchandise Planning, Allocation & Control to join our Planning & Allocation team JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for overseeing the development of long and short range merchandise plans, forecasts, allocation strategies and execution for the assigned area. Responsible to manage and control merchandise purchases and inventories within agreed upon guidelines. Develop collaborative relationships with all levels of management as well as cross functional partners. Manage, train and mentor planning and allocation teams. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Champion change and understand change management Effectively train, mentor and develop planning and allocation team Develop top line financial plans Review and approve long range financial plans at the department level Review and approve open to buy sales, markdown projections and recommended actions Review and approve allocation strategies Responsible for collaborating with DMM on assigned area of responsibility Participate in quarterly analysis and hindsight meetings Develop and maintain relationships with cross functional teams Communicate necessary business information to the necessary teams Support all systems upgrades and testing Partner with SVP on special projects and analysis Develop and maintain milestone calendars KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 10 years experience in Merchandise Planning and Allocation. Bachelor degree required. Fashion Retailing or Business degree a plus.
