Job Summary An electrical engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical systems and components for a variety of applications. This role involves analyzing project specifications, conducting feasibility studies, and utilizing software tools for modeling and simulation. Responsibilities Perform upper-level designer tasks associated with site/underground plans, lighting plans, power plans, grounding plans, electrical one-line diagrams, panel schedules, equipment installation details. Complete and review positioning/programming efforts and arc flash studies (distribution as-builts, SKM/EasyPower modeling, TCC’s, short circuit, and labels). Complete and review calculations in preparation for designs including but not limited to load, voltage drop, short circuit, photometrics, duct bank, and equipment sizing (panels, transformers, generators, UPS’s, generators). Provide engineering support for services during construction including but not limited to submittal reviews, RFI responses, OAC meetings, design verifications, city comments, and star-up/commissioning. Retrieve and review all customer specification documents, vendor quotes, drawings and diagrams for creating electrical designs for customers. Assist project managers with scope walks, scope development, and hour estimates. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) A minimum of five years in PE experience is required. Strong problem-solving skills and technical expertise in electrical design. Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of electrical theory and principles. Proficiency in software tools for simulation and design (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB). Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
