Job Overview Aegis has partnered with a large manufacturing firm near the Savannah, GA area that is seeking a Senior Buyer to join their team. The Senior Buyer will play a critical role in overseeing procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services essential for production. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute purchasing strategies to ensure a steady supply of materials and equipment while optimizing costs. Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and reliability. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships. Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to company and regulatory standards. Collaborate with production and inventory teams to maintain optimal stock levels. Implement cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in procurement processes. Analyze market trends to anticipate material cost fluctuations and mitigate risks. Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements. Support internal audits and reporting requirements related to procurement activities. Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align purchasing decisions with business objectives. Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement staff. Lead or participate in cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency. Qualifications and Skills Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. 5–7 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role. Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, purchasing methodologies, and contract management. Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and procurement software. Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations. Exceptional negotiation and problem-solving abilities. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
