Certification Details BLS required Department: MedSurg Unit: MedSurg - 6th Floor Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5 occasional 1:6 - very rarely happens Job Details Specialty: Medical Surgical Meridian Hospital Flr 6 Contract length: 13 weeks Job Requirements Must have 2 years of MedSurg experience Must have EPIC experience Must be able to read and interpret tele Willing to take students and may be precept new travelers - please see interview notes Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours 7-730 Weekend Requirement: 5 weekend shifts in a 6 week period - travelers are utilized to fill in gaps Holiday Requirement: Yes - if there is a need Unit Specific Information of Beds: 42 Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Primarily a Medical floor with some surgical overflow Are RNs required to titrate drips: No Charge Nurse on each shift: Yes - rarely takes patients but will if needed Nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: Yes - 1:8 ratio RT Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP - RT manages, high flow Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Yes - Virtual Tele techs How many shifts of unit/department-specific orientation: 3 days of general orientation plus 2 shifts on unit with a preceptor Additional Details Floating Requirements: Will float between MedSurg 5, MedSurg 6, and a 9 bed overflow unit, to any like units in the system - Boise Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center both about 8 miles away, could also float to ER for holds or to be a 1:1 Scrubs provided: Any color as long as clean and professional This facility has a radius rule of 50 miles
