American Heart Association Executive Director in McKinney, Texas

At the American Heart Association, your contribution matters, and so does your career. We’re hiring an Executive Director, Development in Collin County, Texas. This position serves in a pivotal leadership role within the community and reports to the Senior Vice President, North Texas. The Executive Director works with the highest-level executives in Collin County with responsibilities for staffing the volunteer Board of Directors and fostering volunteer engagement and development. The Executive Director also provides strategic direction and management to staff with overall responsibility for a $2.0M+ goal. As part of fostering an engaged community, the Executive Director will participate in community and corporate functions that allow for networking and generating new contacts to be part of the Association’s mission and fundraising efforts. This position operates in a fast-paced sales environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay, based on achieving certain revenue targets. The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. To help you be successful, you will have access to Heart U, our award-winning corporate university, as well as additional training and support, locally. Responsibilities Driving results through strong volunteer recruitment and management. Strategic planning and meeting sales/fundraising goals. Sustaining existing and building new corporate partnerships and revenue support through participating in and leading top-level cultivation strategies and engagements. Cultivating major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships (of $25,000 or more), and identifying and securing foundation gifts. Leading and coaching staff to meet the overall goals of the market and mission of the Association. Collaborating with other internal partners, such as our Health Strategies and School Engagement teams to help drive specific cause initiatives in defined markets. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. 5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising or similar experience. 3 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization. Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-suite level. Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial. Ability to travel the Collin County area daily; requires access to reliable transportation. Solid understanding of how to engage and work with philanthropic communities. Must have basic knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office. Compensation
