PROGRAM DIRECTOR / ON-AIR HOST, LIFE 97.9, KFNW (Fargo, ND)

Life 97.9, KFNW, a Northwestern Media station in Fargo, ND, is looking for a focused Program Director and on-air talent. As Program Director, you will shape the on-air content of Life 97.9 and impact our listening audience with engaging on-air programming. Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist the station manager in developing, refining, and maintaining the Life 97.9 programming strategy. Direct Life 97.9’s music by selecting and adding format-appropriate music; utilize research to structure music rotations. Monitor and evaluate day-to-day aspects of Life 97.9 Operations. Oversee and develop the listener experience, including music, content, and imaging. Recruit, oversee, and develop all air talent to create strong connections with listeners. Learn and maintain operational aspects of RCS automation systems. Work with the Creative Service Director to create imaging that fits the station’s strategic purpose. Partner with the Station Manager and Listener Engagement Director for strategic initiatives. Host a daily Live Morning show Monday through Friday. Act as a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, partnering with the University to disciple students. What will it take to succeed in this position? Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent directly related work experience required. Previous related radio experience a minimum of three years required. Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong on-air personality skills. Excellent public speaking skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule. Basic to intermediate computer proficiency. Knowledge of FCC rules and regulations. Ability to pass a background check upon hire.
