position. The Director will organize, lead, and manage a faith-based after-school program and summer camp for 25-35 K-5th grade refugee and immigrant students in South Nashville. The director position is ideal for individuals with a deep passion for equipping children with the skills necessary for academic success, social-emotional health, and spiritual growth. Time Commitment About 25 hours per week Typical Schedule: 2:30-6:00 PM Monday through Thursday. Other work includes weekly staff meetings, planning, setup of activities, transportation of StreetLeaders (as needed), and other duties as assigned. Schedule: The Afterschool Program is Monday-Wednesdays 3:00-5:30 pm. StreetLeader Training is on Thursdays from 3:00-5:30. We follow the MNPS school calendar. Job Responsibilities

Program Management: Serve as the primary point person for UPN’s after-school program serving refugee and immigrant students. Oversee daily programming (i.e. class schedules, communication with teachers, enrichment activities, etc.) Oversee periodic student assessments and track and report student and program data. Follow systems to manage expenses. Ensure the safety of all program participants by adhering to safety procedures. Support the recruitment, enrollment, and retention of elementary-age students in Urban Promise’s after-school program. Communicate with school representatives to promote after-school programs; recruit students, and obtain necessary paperwork. Write, plan, or utilize a published curriculum that meets the social/emotional needs of the students present Lead logistics, including program procedures, volunteer coordination, and transportation. With the StreetLeader Director, create lessons and skits for StreetLeaders to deliver to elementary school students. The content of the lessons will primarily be focused on Biblical stories, social-emotional learning, arts enrichment, and academic support. Co-lead weekly StreetLeader training with the StreetLeader Director Relationship Building: Work closely with the StreetLeader Director to ensure the success of StreetLeaders. Develop and support a strong, positive team culture amongst a diverse team of teenage StreetLeaders and other staff Develop relationships with school personnel, church hosts, volunteers, etc. Support students, teens, staff, volunteers, families, and school partners to actively engage in UrbanPromise programs. Help support an atmosphere for spiritual growth through devotions, worship, and prayer. People Management: Effectively delegate tasks and projects to staff and SLs Assist with performance reviews for all StreetLeaders. Professionalism Plan ahead and communicate for the coming week. Arrive to work and events on time Treat all UPN staff, volunteers, teachers, and SLs with respect Professional Development Participate in relevant trainings throughout the year. Set meaningful professional goals and create plans to attain them. Qualifications

This is a part-time hourly position. We do provide professional development training and a bi-annual staff retreat.
