Following our agreement with Roche to acquire the Vacaville manufacturing facility, we are now looking to recruit a Senior Program Manager for the Vacaville site! This position is not remote or hybrid therefore the candidate will be required to be on site during the work week. The Project Delivery Director is assigned to one or multiple specific investment projects and is responsible for planning, managing, and executing investment projects through the complete project pathway (on time, within budget, meeting required quality standards). The role provides leadership to the project team(s), builds, and maintains relationships with vendors and contractors. This is an engineering discipline role. You will have cross interaction with validation engineers, facility management, and operations; mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations and legal requirements. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute project plans - The CAPEX Project Manager is responsible for creating and implementing project plans that will meet the project's objectives through the Engineering, Design, Construction, Commissioning and Qualification phases. Manage project budgets - The CAPEX Project Manager should ensure that the project stays within budget and manage any changes to the budget. Ensure safety, quality & compliance - The CAPEX Project Manager should ensure that the project meets the required HSE and quality standards according to internal procedures and specifications as well as health authority requirements. Coordinate project teams - The CAPEX Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing the work of project teams to ensure that everyone is working together efficiently. Monitor project progress - The CAPEX Project Manager should regularly monitor the project's progress to ensure that it's on track and identify any potential issues. Ensure compliance with regulations - The CAPEX Project Manager should ensure that the project complies with all relevant regulations and legal requirements. Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies - The CAPEX Project Manager should identify potential risks and develop strategies to manage them. Communicate project status - The CAPEX Project Manager should communicate the project's progress, status, and issues to stakeholders, including senior management, including presenting updates at Steering Committee meetings and at the monthly GE results call. Manage project resources - The CAPEX Project Manager is responsible for managing project resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel. Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors, including architectural and engineering firms, EPCM Partners, and suppliers - The CAPEX Project Manager should establish and maintain relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure they provide high-quality work and meet project timelines. Perform other duties as assigned. Key Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related science discipline or equivalent Extensive experience in project engineering and project management for chemical, biochemical, and life sciences industries. Broad technical knowledge of the Various Engineering Disciplines in the life sciences environment, both on clean and black utilities, process, automation, instrumentation, and civil engineering. Task orientated person who is very comfortable working towards set objectives and has a track record of achieving results in this regard. Proven experience in cost control and scheduling related to investment projects. Experience in engineering aspects of facility design to build a compliant yet cost-effective plant. Knowledge of modern CQV approaches to minimize the time from construction completion to routine production while maintaining compliance. Excellent knowledge of computer systems (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio). Good understanding of how the CDMO industry/business works. Strong experience in Engineering and cGMP Manufacturing of chemical and biological APIs. This position is contingent upon Lonza’s successful completion of the acquisition of the site located in Vacaville, California (the “Closing”), currently anticipated to occur in H2, 2024.
