Department Marketing Statement:
The Office of Academic Personnel facilitates recruitment, appointment, advancement, and development of diverse faculty and academic appointees.
Brief Summary of Job Duties:
Administers leave processes for academic employees, applies knowledge of legal leave entitlements, and participates in developing centralized leave services.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in related area or equivalent experience.
3+ years of administrative work experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to build relationships and collaborate across all levels.
Thorough knowledge of basic software (e.g. Microsoft Office, Google Suite).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UCSB's Academic Personnel systems.
Knowledge of state and federal laws affecting UCSB employees.
1-3 years of customer service experience.
1+ years of experience in higher education.
1+ years of experience in leave of absence administration.
Special Conditions of Employment:
Satisfactory conviction history background check.

Job Functions and Percentages of Time:
Counseling / Case Management (50%):
Manages cases following state and federal guidelines and UC policies.
Leave Program Administration (40%):
Responsible for initial administration of leave requests and collaboration with UCPath Service Center.
Compliance (5%):
Works toward compliance with leave of absence rules and requirements.
Miscellaneous (5%):
May work on special projects in support of the Leave Administration team.
UC Vaccination Programs Policy:
Compliance with the University of California Policy on Vaccinations Programs is required.
