The Opportunity This is a field-based position, supporting Abbott’s Vascular division. Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease. Our extensive portfolio includes drug-eluting stents, guide wires, balloon dilatation catheters, imaging catheters and software, vessel closure devices, peripheral stents, thrombectomy catheters and atherectomy devices. We currently have an opportunity available for an Area Vice President in the great Texas Region. This role will report to the Divisional Vice President (DVP). Area Vice President’s (AVP’s) set a forward-thinking business strategy that meets or exceeds sales and profitability objectives. AVP’s have the responsibility to select, develop, lead, manage and motivate their team to achieve the sales and strategic objectives. AVP’s inspire, engage and coach the team to drive a culture of high performance and accountability. What You’ll Work On Sales Strategy & Execution to deliver Plan (Revenue/Margin)
– Demonstrate exceptional ability to develop sales strategy and execute to drive revenue/margin expectations (monthly/quarterly/annually). Ensure commercial strategies, resources and policies are implemented effectively to drive execution while remaining aligned with business objectives. Select appropriate targets, develop account growth plans, manage account relationships and align clinical resources to meet customer needs. People Leadership
– Ability to lead a multi-level and complex people organization; attract, develop and manage sales talent to deliver desired results. Clearly articulate strategy, goals and expectations to effectively motivate the team. Build a diverse leadership pipeline and promote internal movement/development for the betterment of the broader Abbott organization. Business Acumen
– Proven high-level ability to drive team adherence to business systems, reporting and ways of working while applying an analytical and data-driven mindset. Guide accurate account-based forecasts from each territory and region to facilitate the development and execution of the area business plan that meets/exceeds revenue/margin expectations aligned with the national strategic objectives. Maintain adherence to sales management and reporting systems to ensure implementation of sales strategies (KPI’s) and review sales reporting metrics to provide ongoing direction to direct reports and marketing while ensuring direct reports have access to and understand how to use reporting/analytics tools. Prioritize headcount deployment and assess field organizational structures. Customer Focus
– Excellence in detailed customer administration and high-level customer engagement. Select and prioritize customer targets based on opportunity, market dynamics and strategic value. Facilitate the customer sales cycle, guide the progress of opportunities, and deliver a best-in-class customer experience. Culture, Team Building and Integrity
– Lead by example; build a positive, results-oriented team culture. Establish the team culture through applying accountability as a key factor in driving performance. Ensure business needs are met through ethical behaviors without exception and hold organizational goals ahead of personal gain. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree plus 15+ years of related work experience Minimum 5+ years of successful people management experience 10+ years of experience in medical devices Experience working in a highly regulated and high-quality system environment; compliance with governmental regulations Willingness to travel as required (approx. 50-75%) to manage regional or national sales initiatives PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS MBA in Business, Marketing, Life Sciences or a related field.
