Supervises and coordinates activities of administrators and staff who are engaged in accounting, business, custodial/maintenance, finance, facilities, food service, human resources, instructional technology, security and transportation and the departments that support the functions of payroll and accounts payable. Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities) Minimum of Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Organizational Development; Administration and Supervision Certificate licenses in Indiana or reciprocal license from another state Minimum of five years of combined teaching and administrative experience Experiences with applicable laws, policies and codes of the Indiana State Board of Accounts Division Broad understanding of Indiana Department of Government and Local finance operations, procedures and regulations Broad understanding of experience in debt service, school bonding, capital projects, school facilities and transportation division financial requirements and regulations Exemplary interpersonal and relationship skills in working in a team environment Experience in directing, leading, and managing a large scale corporation in all financial matters and administrative support services Knowledge and experience in financial strategies, techniques, and procedures of budget preparation and control Exemplary oral and written communication skills. Conducts self with high standards and integrity Ability to work independently, meet schedules, timelines, supervise/evaluate assigned staff, analyze situations accurately and implement effective courses of action. Knowledge of existing/pending legislation related to all financial aspects of the organization. Successful work experience in a diverse urban community and organization Previous experience supervising, supporting and evaluating operations including buildings and grounds, purchasing, food service, human resources, technology, transportation, safety and security. Duties and Responsibilities Supervises and evaluates the following departments and/or directors: Accounts Payable, Communications/Public Relations, Comptroller, Facilities, Finance, Food Service, Human Resources, Instructional Technology, Payroll, Security, and Transportation Serves as the Chief Financial Officer Plan, organize, control and direct the district’s business operations, financial operations division and administrative services Coordinates the bidding process Supports the business function of the school improvement and federal programs department Provides a check and balance for monitoring the expenditure of grant funds Develop information and recommend policies and procedures for immediate and long-range financial management and planning Direct the development and implementation of the district’s annual budget Serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet Performs any and all other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the Superintendent. Working Conditions and Physical Environment Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to dial a telephone, to enter data into a computer terminal; hear and understand speech at normal levels; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to sit on the floor, to climb stairs, to walk and to reach overhead. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to angry students/parents and neighborhoods considered to have high levels of violence potential.
