Job Overview:
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a member of the Executive Team and reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The COO will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organization. This position will support the development of diverse business operations, securing functionality of business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. The COO will effectively communicate and foster growth among the organization. The position will supervise various departmental areas, including Housing Management, Housing Development and Human Resources. This is a vital leadership role that will drive results, spur growth and increase the overall efficiency of the corporation.
Key Responsibilities:
Designs and implements business strategies, plans and procedures
Sets comprehensive goals for performance and growth
Establishes policies that promotes the company mission, culture and vision
Oversees a diverse business operation of the company and the work of assigned executives – Housing Management, Housing Development and Human Resources.
Leads to encourage maximum performance and dedication.
Evaluates business performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
Establishes and cultivates key community, government, and organizational relationships that support the organization’s legislative and philanthropic agenda, with particular focus on those who support VOA Texas’ programs and services.
Provides support to the CEO, VOA Texas and VOA National colleagues regarding the impact of legislative, regulatory, or judicial policies on the delivery of VOA Texas services.
Represents VOA Texas in advocacy activities and public events as requested, ensuring a positive and proper image of the organization to its various publics.
Serves as VOA-TX’s representative on local, state, and national boards/agencies that foster the advancement of the organization’s programs and services.
Writes and submits reports to the CEO in all matters of importance.
Assists CEO and the organization to secure grants, contracts and philanthropic projects.
Participates in expansion activities (investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances etc.)
Manages relationships with agency partners/vendors
Supports the Board of Directors by working directly with members as requested to build relationships, develop policies, monitor their implementation and meet the related needs of the board.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or relevant field; Master’s Degree preferred.
Prefer 10 years’ experience in a non-profit organization or executive level in a corporation.
