Job Description
We are in search of a diligent Accounting Specialist to join our team in Weddington, North Carolina, within the construction industry. As an Accounting Specialist, your primary role will be to provide administrative support across various areas such as accounting, procurement, and project management.
Responsibilities:
• Administer the receipt of invoices, ensuring their accuracy and compliance with contractual obligations.
• Engage in effective vendor management, including setting up new accounts, handling credit applications, resolving vendor issues, and reviewing vendor statements.
• Participate in the creation, issuance, and organization of Purchase Orders, making sure they adhere to contract requirements.
• Play an active role in project budget reporting and assist the management team in this regard.
• Ensure the proper organization of project-related equipment and company assets.
• Oversee all aspects of the company fleet program, including purchase, registration, sale, and maintenance.
• Administer the processing of vendor invoices, which encompasses entering invoices into the software system, account coding, posting, and routing for approval.
• Assist in the creation of project-related documents and maintain project records.
• Support the implementation of adequate financial controls within the organization.
• Provide backup support to the Controller as required and work on special projects as assigned.
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations
• Demonstrated knowledge in Billing procedures
• Proficient in Data Entry operations
• Experience in Invoice Processing tasks
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
• Knowledge of construction or contractor industry is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High degree of accuracy and efficiency
• Basic understanding of construction accounting principles
• Familiarity with construction/contractor software is a plus
• Ability to handle confidential information
• Strong problem-solving skills
• A degree in accounting, finance or a related field is preferred
