The Service Division CSO Investigative Aide maintains mobile/digital video recording systems, supports technology deployed in the field, evidence logging and tracking, quartermaster duties, assists with fleet management and other duties as assigned. Responsibilities:

Completes assignments and tasks as provided by the Service Division chain of command Maintains accurate inventory of all department impounded property and evidence Reviews evidence packages and paperwork for accuracy and completeness Enters data in appropriate record keeping system for property, evidence and mobile/digital video recordings Testifies in court concerning chain of custody Copies documents and ensures adherence to the Freedom of Information Act Orders and coordinates the purchase of police, fire and EMS equipment and supplies Department liaison with various technology system vendors Provides technical and application support to end users by responding to requests for assistance, answering end user questions, and solving individual hardware/software problems Department liaison to multiple internal and external entities regarding technical systems employed by the department Assists with video processing and redaction Ensures inventory, maintenance repair and disposition of fleet vehicles Coordinates vehicle repairs and outfitting Assist with subpoena services and case management Performs other relevant duties as assigned Minimum Requirements:

Associates degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job Valid State of Michigan driver’s license Ability to accurately keep records Ability to follow strict guidelines and policies Knowledge of computer hardware and software with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technology issues Knowledge of record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques Good interpersonal communications and human relations skills Ability to think critically Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operational and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals Ability to work with department personnel, city personnel and outside vendors Ability to maintain department required qualifications and certifications Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to pass a thorough background investigation and maintain CJIS compliancy The City of Kalamazoo is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
