This position can be based at any of our CDM Smith Offices in the Southeast
The Transportation Group in NAU is seeking a creative and highly motivated Lead Marketing & Proposal Specialist. This Lead Marketing & Proposal Specialist will report to the Transportation Group marketing manager and contribute to our mission by:
Serving as the lead strategist during the presell stage on large, highly complex project pursuits (>$10M), working closely with the Client Service Leader, subject matter experts, and other core pursuit team members.
Providing and facilitating the writing and editing for our most complex and strategic proposals, presentations, and related marketing materials for our transportation clients.
Applying exceptional writing, editing, and creative abilities to develop clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals and presentations.
Applying creativity/strategic insight while facilitating and participating in brainstorming, storyboarding, and other strategy development sessions.
Utilizing a theme-based approach in the development of proposal and presentation efforts.
Partnering with senior staff to develop strategies and implementation plans for regional and national conferences and other external marketing opportunities, internal firm events, and training; and promoting marketing efforts.
Updating CDM Smith marketing materials, including resumes, project descriptions, and qualification packages, and ensuring that marketing and visual presentation information and files are maintained and up to date.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree.
8 years of related experience.
Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Writing, Communications, or a related degree.
Large pursuit and strategic business development planning experience.
Proposal development experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction industry, specifically in the transportation market, is strongly desired.
Ability to lead, motivate, and sustain pursuit team engagement and actions over a long-term positioning timeframe.
Experience facilitating strategy/brainstorming sessions with both technical and non-technical members and the ability to bring groups to consensus.
Demonstrated experience in developing theme-based messaging that highlights differentiators and solutions.
Exceptional writing/editing/proofreading skills and experience editing complex narrative written by technical professionals.
Advanced skills in Adobe InDesign, MS Word, and PowerPoint, including use of styles and templates.
Ability to effectively coordinate and drive action on pursuits by communicating with remote team members.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and assignments.
Previous experience using MS Teams, SharePoint Excel, Qlik, Mural, and/or Salesforce.
