The Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics business provides leading naval computing infrastructure, network and data distribution, and middleware enterprise services, as well as world-class manufacturing and support capabilities.
This position will lead the Naval Electronics Business Development group and will have overall responsibility for management, oversight, identification, and evaluation of business development opportunities. The VP Business Development is also responsible for the generation of sales growth and profit enhancement necessary, over the short-, medium-, and long-term, to meet or exceed the associated Bookings Forecast and Plan.
Job Responsibilities
Within Naval Electronics, plan and recommend sales and marketing strategies to achieve maximum pipeline development consistent with Company's financial objectives; drive the Company's tactical and strategic growth. Responsible for managing the individuals on the business development team, including business development, proposal management, capture management, and advanced concept group professionals. Along with the business leadership team, establish goals to ensure achievement of market-share objective and profitability of products and services. Overall responsibility for the Capture Planning Process and the Bid and Proposal process and budget. Overall responsibility for the accuracy and achievement of the Company's Bookings Forecast and Plan. Manage and analyze the market intelligence data to ensure market opportunities are capitalized on as they occur and minimize the effects of competitive activity. Familiarity and analysis of DoD budgets annually as related to the pursuits or potential pursuits of Naval Electronics. Responsible for customer engagement and preparation of customer and strategic presentations. Responsible for the preparation of the annual and strategic discretionary spend plans, in collaboration with other functional leaders. Formulate and exercise capture plans and opportunity shaping, both short- and long-range to ensure achievement of financial objectives, and product and service innovation. Conduct periodic meetings and audits to determine effectiveness of competitive efforts and degree of achievement of goals. Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization. Ensure the development of individual and department plans and budgets are consistent with the strategic plan and overall budget. Attend appropriate Corporate meetings and report in areas of responsibility as requested by Senior Management. Perform specific and delegated duties as assigned. Qualifications
Experience with DoD development/technology program captures. Experience directing business development organizations in the DoD contractor space (10-15 years). Experience with products/manufacturing/engineering bases businesses. Bachelor’s degree in marketing or engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience / Master’s degree preferred. Proven success in leading, developing, and mentoring, with a strong ability to foster career growth, enhance skills, and drive performance. Ability to accommodate business travel needs both domestically and internationally. Knowledgeable in marketing and experience developing a competitive marketing strategy. Knowledgeable in U.S. Contracting, ITAR, FAR, and budgeting processes. Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated successful executive presentation skills. Expert knowledge of Company products, markets, and technology. U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment. Compensation and Benefits
The expected pay scale for this position is $170,000- $250,000/yr. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly.
