Position: Experienced Mechanic
Location: Union Grove, WI
About Us:
Asphalt Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Mechanic to join our dedicated team of skilled mechanics. You'll play a crucial role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining both gasoline and diesel vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a team of mechanics to diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs on vehicles and equipment, including steering, electrical, cooling, lubricating, braking systems, drive trains, suspensions, power steering units, clutches, transmissions, and more.
- Ensure equipment is ready for use by following preventative maintenance schedules, installing upgrades, and conducting winterization procedures.
- Conduct test-drives to verify successful repairs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient maintenance facility in compliance with federal, state, and local guidelines.
- Keep detailed vehicle records, documenting services and repairs.
- Perform road calls and on-the-road repairs as required.
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to ensure timely and high-quality repairs.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a heavy truck fleet mechanic.
- CDL Class A certification is required.
- Proficiency in diagnostics, electrical work, and AC systems.
- Prior experience with skid steers, asphalt rollers, mid-sized wheel loaders, etc.
- Technical expertise in major vehicle systems and diesel equipment.
- Familiarity with both diesel and gasoline systems.
- Strong decision-making skills and good judgment.
