Summary About the Position: This is an Administrative Support Assistant position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Northwestern Division (NWD), Omaha District, Engineering Division. As an Administrative Support Assistant, you will perform and direct the performance of varied Branch administrative functions to include the Branch Calendar and File maintenance, Timekeeping, Correspondence creation and review, Branch training requirements, and the coordination of Personnel Actions and Travel Orders. Responsibilities As an Administrative Support Assistant, you will perform and direct the performance of varied administrative functions, such as: Review work prepared by the section administrative support assistants to ensure completeness and accuracy and provides recommendations. Maintain office calendar and supervisors schedules and ensure completion of time keeping for the entire Branch. Assure the proper preparation of travel orders, vouchers, and other routine financial actions as required. Provide administrative support for personnel in the preparation of all personnel actions, performance standards, performance appraisals, and the preparation of award submissions. Assist the supervisors and team members in forecasting training needs and requirements based on priority of need and availability of courses. As a Government Purchase Card manager, you will monitor credit card accounts, commitments, obligations, and expenditures, and assures they are within the Branch budget. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional information about transcripts is in this document. Specialized Experience for GS-7: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Experience with office automation software such as Microsoft word, Excel, in order to produce documents for reports and spreadsheets; AND 2) Experience preparing correspondence with items such as proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation; AND 3) Experience planning/organizing work, and meeting deadlines. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-06. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Education FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
