Senior Accountant

Responsibilities
Financial Reporting
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the company.
Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory accounting principles (SAP), and other regulatory requirements specific to the insurance industry.
Assist in preparing financial reports for management, board members, and regulatory bodies.
Monitor and analyze account balances, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
Insurance Accounting
Handle specialized insurance accounting tasks, including premium revenue recognition, claims reserves, reinsurance transactions, and unearned premium reserves.
Ensure compliance with insurance-specific regulations, including solvency and reserve requirements.
Collaborate with actuaries to ensure accurate reserve calculations and appropriate documentation.
Internal Controls
Assist in developing and maintaining effective internal controls over financial reporting.
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial information and prevent errors, fraud, or non-compliance.
Monitor compliance with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.
