Certified Medical Assistant Job Summary We are seeking an experienced, energetic Certified Medical Assistant - Float / NST / Lab to join our team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and detail-oriented with a passion for woman's health services. Adept at administration tasks, proficient in clinical procedures, and eager to contribute clinical and administrative skills to a dynamic women's healthcare environment with an opportunity to experience a broad range of tasks.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Perform not-stress tests (NST) as ordered by providers Accurately document indication, assessment and results of NST, verifying results are linked to the order Maintain NST equipment, supply inventory and ordering, and facilitate repairs as needed Assist in opening, closing and stocking exam and procedure rooms and cleaning instruments as per protocol Maintain and clean autoclave per protocol and facilitate repairs as needed Perform weekly spore testing and documentation of results in appropriate logbook Organize and maintain medication samples, ordering samples and checking expiration dates on a monthly basis Organize and maintain medical supplies and educational materials; maintaining and ordering inventory as needed Prepare surgical folders as needed Cover back-office staff absences, as needed and as directed by nursing supervisor or clinic administrator. Maintain awareness of patient's needs via telephone and in-office, assist with rooming patients, incoming and outgoing telephone calls, procedures and scanning Provide assistance for lab to include, but not limited to, phlebotomy, injections, Affirm, gonorrhea (GC), chlamydia (CHL), group B strep (GBS), glucose, hemoglobin (Hgb), and urinalysis, stocking, cleaning, and logbooks Collect and prepare blood and urine samples using a consistent patient labeling identification system for performing laboratory procedures Obtain, label and process blood, culture and/or urine specimens as ordered by providers Identification system for performing routine laboratory procedures Assure the reliability and safety of blood products utilizing appropriate collection and processing procedures to avoid inadequate specimens Maintain accurate documentation and effectively communicate results in a timely manner to appropriate health care personnel and efficiently manage patient/provider wait times Comply with all clinic policies and procedures as well as HIPPA, CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management compliances Other duties as assigned by owners or clinic management Skills Required
Phlebotomy training either by outside facility or appropriate experience as determined by physicians or nursing supervisor. Good communication, organizational and multitasking skills Excellent attention to detail, record keeping, and communication skills Strong computer skills with ability to adapt to evolving office technologies and systems Strong 'people' skills Education/Certifications
Certified Nursing Assistant, or Certified Medical Assistant BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification
