5 years of experience
in PLC programming. Expertise in
PLC programming
(e.g., ladder logic). Experience in
plastics manufacturing. Strong problem-solving skills. Familiarity with
OPC UA Codesys
and machine-to-machine communication protocols for data exchange. Self-driven with project management capabilities. Python programming skills
(highly preferred). Nice to Have:
Experience with
Modbus, HMI, SCADA, Raspberry Pi,
or
IQMS/Delmia ERP systems. General Description:
The client is seeking a
PLC Programmer
to design, program, test, and maintain
PLC systems
for industrial automation processes in the
plastics industry.
The role involves collaboration with engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient and reliable operation of manufacturing systems.
This position requires a
minimum of 3 days onsite
with flexibility to spend more time on the production floor as needed.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop PLC programs based on project requirements and specifications for
plastics manufacturing processes. Design and implement control systems for
automated machinery and processes. Configure and troubleshoot PLC hardware and software components. Conduct testing and debugging of PLC programs for optimal performance in
plastics production. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate PLC systems with other equipment and control systems. Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams. Document and maintain detailed records of PLC programs, configurations, and modifications. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to PLC programming and automation. Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:
Associate's degree in
Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering,
or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proficiency in
PLC programming languages
(e.g., ladder logic, structured text, function block diagram). Experience with PLC hardware/software platforms (e.g.,
Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric ). Understanding of
industrial automation principles
specific to plastics manufacturing. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial environments (plastics industry preferred). Familiarity with
Raspberry Pi for automation or control applications
(a plus). Measurement of Performance:
Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned Quality Manufacturing IT goals. Effective collaboration with coworkers and supervisors. Ability to interact effectively with users and team members. Adaptability to new systems and technologies with a proactive approach to innovation. Effective problem recognition and resolution. Overall contribution to Quality Manufacturing IT and user satisfaction with IT services. Additional Information:
