IT Programmer Analyst II , so come join our team and make a meaningful impact on youth and the community at DJS!
The main purpose of this position is the full performance level of work planning, designing, developing and documenting improvements and new or advanced systems in application, communication, database and operating system software technology across a variety of systems utilized by employees of the Department of Juvenile Services.
Some key responsibilities of this position may include, but not be limited, to the following: •Consult with users to plans, designs, develops and documents improvements and new or advanced systems in application, communication, database and operating system software technology across a variety of DJS systems, utilizing HTML 5, Node JS, Angular, C#, SQL and/or F#, as well as other future complex languages •Performs in-depth analysis of various information technology alternatives to include consideration of technical matters, costs and compatibility with existing hardware or software, and prepares related narrative reports and technical documents. •Develops the structure, methodology and use for major elements of an information technology discipline coordinating application development tasks with DJS and appropriate third party network operations personnel. Prepares technical application designs and project specifications detailing input, processes, and output. perform utility routines including debugging and editing.
This position is eligible to work a hybrid telework schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
Five years of experience, one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools and an additional four years of experience converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute six credit hours of coursework in application analysis and programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for six months of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and eighteen months of experience converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for the additional four years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and fifteen credit hours from an accredited college or university in systems analysis and application programming using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for the additional four years of the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute experience in one of the following areas: operating computers, scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining backups or data storage, processing data on computers, evaluating, implementing and maintaining hardware and software, on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
5. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other information technology related field and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining applications systems and programs using generally accepted computer programming languages or other developmental tools for the required experience.
6. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Computer Systems Programming classifications or Computer Systems Programming specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The preferred candidate for this position may possess any of the following qualifications: Experience using higher level programming languages like C# Experience completing database programming, creating procedures using SQL Experience working with User interface design, using style sheets Knowledge of Bootstrap
