Certified Medical Assistant - Cardiology, Penn Avenue - Treadmill Testing Des Moines, Iowa Full-time Benefit Package Shift: Monday to Friday **$5,000.00 Sign-on Bonus for External Hires! Responsibilities: As a Certified Medical Assistant specializing in treadmill testing, you will play a critical role in supporting our cardiology department. You will be responsible for preparing patients for treadmill stress tests, monitoring patients during the tests, and assisting with related clinical duties. Your expertise and patient-centered approach will ensure accurate testing and a comfortable experience for our patients. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Preparation:
Prepare patients for treadmill testing, including taking vital signs, explaining the procedure, and ensuring patient comfort. Monitoring:
Monitor patients during treadmill stress tests, observing for any signs of distress or abnormal responses. Report findings to the supervising physician. Equipment Operation:
Operate and maintain treadmill and related testing equipment, ensuring proper function and calibration. Documentation:
Accurately document patient information, test results, and observations in electronic health records (EHR). Support:
Assist the cardiology team with other clinical tasks as needed, including scheduling, patient follow-up, and inventory management. Patient Education:
Provide patients with post-test instructions and answer any questions they may have about the procedure. Qualifications:
Certification:
Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. Experience:
Previous experience in a cardiology setting or with treadmill testing is preferred but not required. Skills:
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. CPR Certification:
Current CPR certification required. Technical Proficiency:
