A diverse and inclusive workforce strengthens us and allows for a collaborative environment to solve the challenges that face our industry today and in the future.Supervisor, Operations Stability Planning leads a team to perform stability assessment in the operation planning horizon, including quarterly stability assessment (QSA) and Generic Transmission Constraints (GTCs), to ensure continuing reliable operations of the electric power grid in compliance with NERC Standards, ERCOT Protocols and Market Guides. Provides engineering analysis and support to Operations related to outages. Works with various technical teams to ensure technical content of operations activities and procedures are reviewed and maintained. Coordinates and interfaces with other ERCOT team members. Works with Market Participants to ensure reliable operation of the ERCOT Grid. Attends Market, Technical and Industry Meetings as required.ADDITIONAL JOB DUTIES
- Schedules work for employees and provides on the job training as needed
- Supervises and provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring including performance appraisals and other management responsibilities
- Leads a team to perform QSA studies.
- Leads a team to create new or update existing Generic Transmission Constraints and communicate with market participants as required by ERCOT Guides and Protocols and TSPs as required by NERC Standards.
- Leads a team to support operations stability assessment related to outage coordination
- Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for the ERCOT Guides and Protocols and the NERC Standards for Operations Stability.
- Coordinates with other ERCOT teams and market participants to improve dynamic models and interconnection process.
- Provides operations analysis and reports both written and oral.
- Provides operations engineering support for other ERCOT support personnel as required.
- Formulates recommendations for changes to ERCOT Protocol and Guides.
- Supports ERCOT by working with various ERCOT subcommittees, working groups, and task forces.
- Represents ERCOT on ERCOT and industry committees, subcommittees, working groups, and task forces as assigned.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in planning or system operations in excess of degree requirements stated above
- Knowledgeable in the dynamic modeling of power system especially inverter base resources is required
- Experience with PSSE or TSAT dynamic simulation preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in a leadership or supervisory role preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Required)
- Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred)
- or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas is preferred.
- Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management
- On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time
