Division Chief of Hospital Medicine 

The University of Missouri School of Medicine's Department of Medicine is seeking a Division Chief of Hospital Medicine. The incoming Division Chief will lead Division contributions to the tripartite academic mission of research, education, and clinical service.  Leadership opportunities include building and strengthening a large and growing division through clinical and academic programs.  Hospitalist clinicians provide inpatient services in University Hospital, a 390-bed tertiary care facility, the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and the Missouri Orthopedic Institute, in addition to a unique medical-behavioral health Integrated Medicine Unit within the Missouri Psychiatric Center.  Services extend to post-acute care, with the opportunity to grow. 

Division faculty are primary educators in clinical and didactic curriculum for Internal Medicine clerkship students and sub-interns, Internal Medicine residents, PA students, and PA Hospitalist fellows. 

Hospital Medicine research has grown primarily through industry-sponsored clinical trials over the last decade, creating continued opportunities to build health services research in the University of Missouri’s vibrant research environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B/C of Board eligible in Internal Medicine

Candidates will be evaluated on: 

  • Demonstrated record of success in scholarship and patient care
  • An aptitude for collaboration, innovation, and program development.
  • Applicants who are qualified for the associate Professor or professor rank.
  • Academic medicine experience and leadership experience.
