JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the physician is responsible for quality and completeness of assigned medical services at any of the corporation clinic sites.The Physician must be knowledgeable in systems improvement and have the ability to facilitate a culture of a Patient Centered Medical Home.
Responsibilities
Examines, diagnosis, prescribes and administers quality, evidence-based health care to patients
Supervises Family Nurse Practitioner , Physician Assists in care management, clinical standards and procedures as needed including sign-off on charts, co-signatures for forms and prescriptions
Meets Quality of Care (Quality Measures) and participates in Peer Review
Completion/Documentation of EHR/Medical records, coding and signing of charts within the designated time set by the organization
Participates in consumer education and in-service training for support personnel
Licensure/Duties
License to practice medicine or osteopathy in the State of California
Board certification or Board eligibility in Family Practice, Internal Medicine or Pediatrics
Current residents of an accredited Residency Program may apply prior to graduating from the program
Possess current DEA registration for prescribing
Current CPR certification
Demonstrate sensitivity to the diverse patient population and work well with patients, vendors and co-workers courteously and respectably
Communication Skills
Neat and legible handwriting.
Ability to interact with patients, their families, staff and others courteously and calmly.
Ability to communicate well with the public.
Physical Requirements
Must be in good health and able to lift up to 40lbs and push up to 110lbs (on wheels).
Must be able to work on feet the majority of the day without tiring.
Must be able to hear adequately to auscultate B/PS.
Just have vision which is adequate to read increments of tuberculin syringe accurately
Must have high manual dexterity and tactile sensation on fingertips.
Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, bend, squat, sit and twist or turn.
Routinely exposed to blood borne pathogens and contagious/infectious disease
