The Product Data Services team is seeking a Team Lead, Software Engineering to join us in building the Enterprise applications that power all of CoStar's products. Come be an integral part of brands across the organization such as Apartments.com, Homes.com, CoStar and more to solve problems of scale, consistency, and performance. Working primarily on Amazon Web Services components you can have a tangible impact on thousands of end users that use our products.This position is located in La Jolla and offers a schedule of 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.ResponsibilitiesDeeply understand what drives the business for which you are building software. We firmly believe that what separates a good developer from a great one is a deep understanding of the business that they are supporting.Provide project definition and implementation through hands-on management of a software development team leveraging Agile Scrum development and project management best practices defined by the company. Manage and mentor your team of 2-5 software developers in building Global Research applications utilizing the Agile SDLC. Act as a player/coach.Hands-on involvement in design, architecture and development activities in the creation of applications ranging the entirety of the Research ProcessWork on big, distributed, API-driven systems that operate on massive amounts of data in high transaction volume applications for tens of thousands of users, while producing bullet-proof code that is robust, efficient, and maintainable; our primary tools are C#, .NET Framework, JSON, SQL Server, and AWS. Collaborate with your QA resources to ensure that the software you deliver is of the highest quality. (Our customers are not beta testers.)Act as a key member of the product launch team and work closely to DevOps to resolve operational issues.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s Degree required from an accredited, not-for-profit university or college.A track record of commitment to prior employers.7+ years of .NET development (C#) development experience including cross-platform communication technologies such as Web API2+ years of experience managing or mentoring a team of EngineersA demonstrable track record of building and launching successful products that leverage terabytes of data3+ years of experience with SQL Server, Databricks, writing SQL queries, data matching/cleansing/enriching as well as ETL/data pipeline engineeringAbility to analyze technical requirements and design new architectures, data models, and ETL strategiesExpertise in database design, complex T-SQL programming, performance tuning, and index analysisDeliver work products that meet specifications, are free of defects, and have optimal performanceDefine Database Architecture and Development best practicesPreferred Qualifications And SkillsFacilitate discussions among database developers to exchange ideas and introduce new database technologies.
