Job Description

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute. 

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services.
  • Communicates patient’s status to the healthcare team.
  • Completes necessary charge and statistical information.
  • Schedules patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
  • Provides home instructions to patients and families.
  • Supervises students in clinical education programs.
  • Maintains professional license through continuing education.
  • Performs and supervises occupational therapy assessments and treatments.
  • Rotates through treatment areas as needed.
  • Actively participates in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
  • Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
  • Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.


Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
  • Occupational Therapist (OT)
  • Act 34
  • OAPSA
