Job Description
Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services.
- Communicates patient’s status to the healthcare team.
- Completes necessary charge and statistical information.
- Schedules patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
- Provides home instructions to patients and families.
- Supervises students in clinical education programs.
- Maintains professional license through continuing education.
- Performs and supervises occupational therapy assessments and treatments.
- Rotates through treatment areas as needed.
- Actively participates in staff meetings and in-service education programs.
- Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
- Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Occupational Therapist (OT)
